Deep Forest

This is a quick overview of the most important releases DF has made. 3 studio-album, one live-album and several singles. As well as a number of releases that are related to DF in some way. I won't cover all - there are quite a lot of singles, but I'll cover the most important ones.

Deep Forest is a French band consisting of Michel Sanchez and Eric Mouquet (picture). Each have different projects on their own in addition to Deep Forest. In time this pages should cover at least the most important of those.

Studio albums

Deep Forest (1992) / World Mix (1994)

Their first album - using samples of African music.
First released as "Deep Forest", then re-released
as "World Mix" with some additional tracks (remixes).

Boheme (1995)

This album seems to be most people's
favourite DF-album (it certainly is mine - by far!).
It used music from countries in East-Europe
like Romania, Hungary and Bulgaria - as well
as Arabic and Mongolian influences.
This album was re-relased with one additional track -
"While The Earth Sleeps", which was a collaboration
with Peter Gabriel for the movie Strange Days.

Comparsa (1997) / Comparsa Lim.Ed (1997)

Their 3rd album is a little different.It had
a caribbean, calypso like sound to it.
Most people don't like it, feeling uncomfortable
with the different sound. I made a review of it
when it was released (here).The limited edition
was sold at Border's Books and Music stores in the USA.
It had a differentcover (red butterflies) and was a 2CD.

Made In Japan (1999)

Their first album - using samples of
African music. First released as "Deep Forest",
